This is a indepth, hands on experience designed to teach you how to not only be self sufficent off-road, but to know the rules, the regulations and get to really know your equipment. This is led by a team in order to ensure everyone's safety as well as show full hands on what life is like living in the wilderness. This is not a class room setting, this is an outdoor experience in mother nature, regardless of the weather, that will typically last for 2 days with 1 overnight. Think you are up for it? Want to join this class? Apply now!what will this cost you?
Of course, this is an instructor team led class, designed to equip you for the unknown. For the OV4B class, pricing is per vehicle, NOT per person. However, attendee size is limited to 2 people per vehicle. (safety reasons) for the 2 day, 1 overnight class for Overlanding 4 Beginners, the cost starts at $595.00 per vehicle. What to expect from this class typically:
- We will have a central meeting location, as our jumping off point into the wilderness
- Dinner will be provided by the group, as well as breakfast the next morning. Lunches and snacks will need to be packed
- Each attendee will recieve an "essentials" bag at the start of the trip, including such items as may be needed on the journey
- Each vehicle will need to have a full tank of fuel before starting the journey
- You will need to read the section below very carefully to ensure you have what you need for this adventure.
- There will be gifts, prizes and give-aways on this expereince as well.
What we will provide
Overlanding is far more indepth then just hitting a trail for a few hours and then going home. Oerlanding is the art of living off the grid, and enjoying the experience of the journey, NOT the desire for a specific destination. That being said, not everyone will be fully prepared or equiped right off the line. So, to accomodate, here is what we are going to provide for you...
First, we wil provide each vehicle with a VHF/UHF radio for trail communications. We will also provide the dinner meals for each night we camp, and breakfast meals for each morning to follow. (let us know if you have allergies or dietary concerns) We will also provide all first aid materials in the enexpected case of injury. (Of course we hope to never use them) We are also going to have a centralized camp bathroom set-up for the camp, which will include the bare nescesities for personal evacuations while in the wilderness.
J4B will also have an established route chosen, with established locations for the nightly camping, laid out on a map for each driver. J4B will also be providing essential bundles for each vehicle before the trip, which will inlcude items that may be nescesary on the journey.
Oh, yeah, and we are also going to provide the education, training and some surefire entertainment as we will dive into the history of the sport through contests and give-aways.
What you need to provide
Overlanding is far more indepth then just hitting a trail for a few hours and then going home. Oerlanding is the art of living off the grid, and enjoying the experience of the journey, NOT the desire for a specific destination. That being said, not everyone will be fully prepared or equiped right off the line. Hence why we are going to assist in the majority of the essentials. However, we cannot provide everything, nor would we want to, I mean after all, this is YOUR experience. So, here is what YOU will need to provide for this adventure, well, mostly.
First, it is an overnight(s) event, so you will need shelter. What kind is up to you. Some prefer ground tents, some prefer lean-tos, some prefer to sleep in their Jeep, others go all out with items such as roof-top tents. Regardless, you need to come prepared to set-up camp. (This includes your blankets and pillows of course) Second, this is a mutiple day journey, so I am sure you are going to enjoy bringing a change of clothes and any and all essentials for your own personal hygiene. And finally, you will need to have the right spirit and the right attitude, because lets face it, its going to be fun, and we all know it, so please leave the "drama" at home.
Want to bring other items? No problem, you can never be too prepared. If you are not sure about anything listed above, or if you have something specific you want to ask about, let us know, we can cover each item one by one if you like.
